Responsible to: Commercial Manager / Commercial Director
Purpose of the role: To take full commercial responsibility for MEP packages across a range of construction projects, ensuring financial performance, risk management, and successful delivery from procurement through to final account.
Client brief: Our client is a leading main contractor with a strong presence across defence, data centre, and commercial sectors. They are known for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining long-term client partnerships.
KEY INFORMATION
- Reason for vacancy: Project pipeline growth and increased workload
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + package
- Shifts: Monday - Friday
- Holidays: Standard (TBC)
- Facilities: Major project environment with established commercial and project teams
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full commercial management of MEP packages from procurement through to final account
- Work closely with project and site teams to achieve financial targets
- Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and risk
- Attend and contribute to pre-contract and supply chain meetings
- Ensure clarity of scope and adherence to contract requirements
- Manage subcontractor accounts and variations
- Support overall commercial strategy on projects
REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying
- Strong experience working on MEP packages (essential)
- Degree / HNC / HND in relevant discipline (desirable)
- Professional membership (MCIOB / MRICS preferred)
- Valid CSCS card
- Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
