Role: To manage and coordinate maintenance personnel while ensuring site equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently, minimising disruption and supporting business performance.

Brief: Manufacturing business seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Co-ordinator to coordinate a small team of maintenance fitters and maintain site equipment and facilities, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.

- Reason for Vacancy: Retirement
- Overtime: Available/required when necessary, paid at 1.5 times the normal rate
- Shifts: Monday to Thursday, days only
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Role
- Manage and coordinate maintenance personnel, including subcontractors.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and maintain relevant documentation.
- Maintain breakdown repair records.
- Manage inventory stock levels using usage analysis records.
- Coordinate prompt machinery breakdown repairs to minimise production disruption.
- Conduct regular building and machinery inspections and report concerns to the Production Manager.
- Operate manual machinery, including mills, lathes and grinders.
- Maintain tooling and jigs, including documentation and revision updates.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and implement effective solutions.
- Work with the Production Manager on factory improvement projects.
- Build effective working relationships across support functions to optimise factory performance.
- Key Skills Required
- Time-served maintenance experience.
- Minimum two years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC.
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills.
- Experience with PPM and breakdown maintenance.
- Ability to operate manual mills, lathes and grinders.
- Experience managing/coordinating maintenance personnel and subcontractors.
- Good stock/inventory management skills.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Six Sigma principles advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
