Responsible to: Associate Director / Mechanical Director
Purpose of the role: To lead mechanical building services design and project delivery across a range of new-build and refurbishment schemes, ensuring technical excellence, sustainable outcomes, and successful client delivery.
Client brief: Our client is a growing building services consultancy delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen their leadership team and support continued project growth.
KEY INFORMATION

- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + package
- Shifts: Monday to Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead mechanical design delivery across new-build and refurbishment projects
- Manage projects through all RIBA work stages from concept to completion
- Develop and maintain strong client, contractor, and multidisciplinary relationships
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and on-site quality assurance
- Deliver technically robust and sustainable building services solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards
- Support business growth through technical leadership and project excellence
Key Skills Required:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering UK building services projects
- Strong understanding of RIBA stages and full project lifecycle
- Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong technical design capability within building services
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM advantageous
- Proven leadership capability within consultancy or project environments
- Passion for sustainable and low-carbon design solutions
