Ready to make your mark in packaging machinery? This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone relatively early in their commercial career who wants to join one of the most innovative and forward-thinking packaging machinery manufacturers in the market. You won’t be walking into an empty territory. You’ll take responsibility for an established South West territory with an existing customer base and significant potential, following the progression of the current Sales Manager into a Key Account Management role. It creates a fantastic opportunity to step into a proven territory, build relationships with established customers and develop new business while learning from an experienced and successful UK team.

The Role

As Sales Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for developing machinery and solution sales across the South West of the UK. You’ll work closely with food manufacturers and processors, understanding their production challenges and helping develop the right packaging solution for their application. This is consultative, technical sales. You’ll be developing relationships, identifying opportunities, understanding applications and working with customers and the wider engineering team to turn those opportunities into successful projects.

Who are we looking for?

We’re deliberately keeping the brief relatively open. You might already be selling packaging or processing machinery and be looking for your next step. You could be a Sales Engineer looking for a bigger opportunity and more responsibility. Or perhaps you’ve built a strong technical background within packaging machinery and have the personality and commercial drive to move further into sales. What matters most is that you’re:

  • Ambitious and motivated to build a successful commercial career
  • Technically curious and comfortable discussing machinery and applications
  • Confident developing relationships with customers
  • Commercially minded without needing to be a stereotypical salesperson
  • Comfortable managing your own territory and diary
  • Interested in modern packaging technology and automation
  • Based within, or well positioned to cover, the South West of the UK

Experience within packaging machinery, food processing equipment, automation or associated capital equipment would be particularly relevant.

Why this one? Because you’re not being asked to rescue a failing territory or build something from nothing. You’re taking over a solid, established region because of internal career progression. You’ll be joining a highly regarded international packaging machinery organisation with excellent technology, a strong installed base and a reputation for continually pushing packaging solutions forward. For someone with the right attitude and ambition, it’s a superb opportunity to establish themselves within the industry and build a long-term career with a genuinely progressive business.
