Serious is a social enterprise committed to creating sustainable products that deliver quality and affordability while driving significant environmental and social change. Among its innovative products are Serious Tissues, the UK's first carbon‑neutral toilet roll that plants a tree for every box sold, and Serious Soaps and Laundry Sheets, which contribute to removing ocean‑bound plastic. Serious has planted over 1.5 million trees and recovered 2.2 tonnes of ocean‑bound plastic. Through its jobs‑first model, the company also provides employment opportunities for individuals impacted by homelessness, promoting long‑term social transformation. Joining Serious means making an impact by supporting forest regeneration, ocean clean‑up, and meaningful employment opportunities through everyday choices.
Role Description
This is a senior part‑time role at the heart of the Serious Tissues business. You will own and deliver our employment programme from end to end, while managing senior relationships with wholesale clients, procurement partners and FM employer accounts.
The Programme
The Serious Tissues employment programme is a structured four‑stage pathway from referral to sustained employment for people experiencing homelessness. As Programme Delivery Manager you will coordinate and deliver each stage, working with our referral partners and FM employer partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate each quarterly cohort from referral through to employment, owning all logistics and communications.
- Develop and continuously improve programme content, incorporating learnings and feedback after each cohort.
- Build and maintain relationships with referral partners to sustain a strong, well‑supported candidate pipeline.
- Maintain the operational processes and documentation that allow the programme to run consistently as it scales.
- Act as the primary point of support for trainees from first contact through to post‑employment follow‑up.
- Identify and respond to challenges mid‑programme with appropriate care and practical guidance.
- Provide clear guidance on benefits interactions during paid placements, ensuring no trainee is financially disadvantaged.
- Maintain regular contact with placed trainees, supporting the 70%+ six‑month retention outcomes that underpin our impact reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for FM employer partners (Mitie, ISS, Churchill, Andron, OCS Group) on all placement matters.
- Coordinate placement logistics: site inductions, PPE, scheduling, timesheets, and supervisor communications.
- Develop new employer partner relationships to expand placement and employment opportunities.
- Own all outcome tracking: training completion, employment outcomes, six‑month retention and living wage hours generated.
- Produce and present quarterly Social Value Reports for senior management, Bunzl and key wholesale accounts, aligned to MeasureUp SROI, National TOMs and PPN 002.
- Develop case studies and impact evidence for commercial and fundraising use.
- Join joint client visits with Bunzl sales representatives to present the impact proposition to their customers.
- Support account renewals and upsell conversations with tailored impact data and ESG reporting materials.
- Keep Bunzl’s sales team equipped with up‑to‑date programme briefings, data and case studies.
Who Are We Looking For?
There is no single background that defines the right person. We care more about how you work and what you bring than where you’ve been.
Qualifications
- Experience running or coordinating an employment, training or social enterprise programme.
- Direct experience working with people facing significant barriers to employment, including homelessness, with appropriate professional boundaries.
- Proven track record managing senior relationships — comfortable engaging at director and procurement lead level on behalf of an organisation, not just coordinating logistics.
- Able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously — cohort logistics, employer liaison, data tracking and client reporting.
- Confident communicator at all levels — from a pastoral conversation with a trainee to presenting social value data to a senior procurement team or board.
- Genuine belief that commercial success and social impact are complementary, not competing.
Working Arrangement
Part Time – 24 hours with flexi working available. Location – London based with occasional national travel required.
