We are looking for two People Officers to join our customer focused, fast paced and collaborative People Operations Team.

Reporting directly to the People Operations Manager you will support the delivery of end-to-end people services for the SFO which incorporates the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding of new employees, supporting employees through all life events at work e. g. promotion, general queries, parental leave etc., supporting on payroll and providing clear guidance for people who have chosen to exit the SFO.

We envisage that one People Officer will become an onboarding specialist and one will take on more generalist work but you won't be placed into a box and will have opportunities to grow and work across all areas in the People Operations team.

People operations is a, varied and exciting area of work within the whole People and Culture team, the team deliver an efficient and effective first stage support for all people related enquiries across the SFO.

We are looking for someone with a positive outlook, who is motivated to help us deliver high quality services and who wants to support our efforts to make continuous improvements to how we work., As a People Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Share responsibility for the People and Culture mailbox, especially focused on responding to general queries and providing timely professional advice or escalating emails to the relevant team members to respond where appropriate.
  • Support with case management of employee relations cases, either with level 1 investigations or taking notes in meetings to support the People Business Partners, People Operations Manager and/or managers in operational areas of the SFO.
  • Support the team with continuous improvement to our services, helping to identify areas for improvements and work with the People Operations Manager to deliver continuous improvement work.
  • Work with People and Culture colleagues to include wider project work, contributing to and taking minutes at meetings, and assisting team members in the wider delivery of effective People and Culture services.
  • Keep up to date with employee related legislative changes and support managers in regular calls with the pension account manager.
  • Working collaboratively across the team to provide payroll service in collaboration with the Crown Prosecution Services payroll team (who provide our payroll service) to ensure that we provide them with the relevant transactional information within the agreed monthly timeframe and that staff are paid correctly each month.
  • Become the face of onboarding at the SFO, leading on onboarding activities for new starters including issuing contracts of employment, collaborating with the vetting team and answering any new starter queries throughout the process.
