This is an exciting opportunity to join the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) as Head of Proactive Intelligence. The role focuses on growing and enhancing the SFO’s intelligence capabilities, deploying a full range of intelligence techniques and processes to identify and develop the most serious and complex economic crime cases.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day leadership and oversight of the Intelligence Division’s covert capabilities and proactive team.
- Oversee the development and use of proactive intelligence and operational techniques.
- Ensure divisional performance supports the SFO’s Strategy and Business Plan.
- Effectively manage intelligence referrals and operations, intervening when necessary to ensure effective case progression and high‑quality outcomes.
- Provide visible leadership, actively promoting the values and priorities of the SFO.
- Lead proactive and covert operations, encouraging a culture of initiative, flexibility and accountability.
- Build and develop teams to improve performance.
Qualifications
- Significant and demonstrable operational experience leading senior intelligence or investigative teams in a multi‑disciplinary environment dealing with serious or complex crime.
- Experience building and developing teams to improve performance.
- Recent experience leading proactive and covert operations, with a good understanding of RIPA 2000 and IPA 2016 and the use of covert human intelligence sources.
- Skilled at managing relationships with intelligence partners, utilising sensitive intelligence across organisational and national boundaries.
