The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

The role will be based at our offices at 2-4 Cockspur Street, London, SW1Y 5BS, in central London. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. Informal hybrid working arrangements apply and there is an expectation that staff will attend the office regularly. Work pattern and office attendance will be agreed with successful candidates.

Strategy Group’s diverse responsibilities support operational delivery across the whole of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). Strategy Group is made up of c.50 staff across five teams working on areas including Strategy & Planning, Performance, Risk & Assurance, Communication, Policy & Engagement, Victim & Witness Care, Continuous Improvement (CI), Operational Guidance & Policy, Memorandums of Understanding, Project Management Office, Private Office & Governance.

As the Senior Improvement Officer you will be part of a team responsible for Improvement across key SFO functions, covering both operational and enabling areas. You will work across the organisation to develop, deliver, maintain, and improve the following areas to a high standard in line with our priorities and strategy:

  • Continuous Improvement through our newly launched CI Service and Process.
  • Operational Guidance and Operational Policy through our Operational Handbook and associated policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Improving ways of working and relationships with domestic and international partners through our Memorandum of Understanding Service.
  • Learning & Development within Strategy Group.

You will report to different functional committees within the organisation, chaired by SCS2 Executive Team members. You will gain excellent experience in developing organisation-wide improvements, and the opportunity to work with senior leaders to deliver important services crucial to the delivery of SFO’s strategy and its overall mission.

As a Senior Improvement Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, delivering, and improving our newly established Continuous Improvement Service and Process, including developing and maintaining a Continuous Improvement Culture across the SFO. This involves delivering targeted workshops to develop improvement suggestions, attention to detail maintaining and improving our CI Backlog, engaging our CI Champions and Ambassadors, analysing data to measure key service metrics, regularly communicating progress to all colleagues and assisting in the preparation of service compliance data to enable regular reporting to Portfolio Committee.
  • Managing, delivering, and improving our Operational Handbook and associated resources. This involves collaborating across the SFO to provide, maintain, and improve accessible, accurate, and up-to-date operational guidance and policy that will be used by colleagues across the organisation. To facilitate this you will regularly collaborate with General Counsel’s Office and be responsible for effectively communicating change to all operational colleagues. You will coordinate the assurance of Operational Handbook content and report to Operations Committee.
  • Creating new online content, editing existing online content, archiving material, assisting with responding to requests for historic content, and maintaining strict version control over amendments to content.

This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months with a possibility of extension (subject to business need).
