Join us as Mechanical and Pressure Systems Lead (Technical Authority), where you’ll ensure the integrity and performance of mechanical and pressure systems across our operated assets. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll act as the discipline authority — providing expert guidance, independent judgement on mechanical systems, pressure containment and structural integrity. You’ll lead a team of engineers and oversee an outsourced Lifting Technical Authority, ensuring delivery of business priorities and strong discipline capability.
Communication will be key as you provide clear technical direction and collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Projects to manage asset integrity risks. Through Learning, you’ll drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategies, equipment reliability and integrity management, ensuring standards evolve through lessons learned and assurance activities. You’ll create an environment where teams are empowered and take accountability, ensuring appropriate oversight of risk-based decisions such as maintenance deferrals and mechanical integrity assessments. Above all, you’ll lead with respect, promoting collaboration and ensuring safe, compliant and consistent management of mechanical and pressure systems across the asset lifecycle.
Leadership & Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Mechanical and Pressure Systems discipline
- Act as Technical Authority for mechanical integrity and pressure systems
- Provide assurance on risk-based decisions (e.g. deferrals, integrity risks)
- Maintain discipline standards, maintenance strategies and compliance
- Support operations and projects with mechanical and integrity expertise
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), Chartered preferred
- Strong experience in mechanical and pressure systems in UKCS oil & gas
- Knowledge of integrity management, regulatory requirements and standards
- Proven leadership and team development capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
