The Role

The Information Manager plays a key role in ensuring that organisational information is accurate, well‑governed, secure, and consistently used to support effective operations, regulatory compliance, and informed strategic decision‑making. Acting as the organisation’s lead for information governance, records management, data quality, and lifecycle management, the role champions best practice and ensures information is recognised and managed as a critical organisational asset.

What we are looking for in potential candidates

  • An experienced information management professional with the credibility, confidence and presence to lead governance, records management and document control across the organisation.
  • Someone who brings strong technical capability and can work independently, applying sound judgement while delivering high‑quality advice and solutions with minimal supervision.
  • A candidate with the maturity and gravitas to make an immediate impact, stabilising and elevating the function, with flexibility for the role to evolve into a permanent structure later on.
  • Proven ability to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., Data Protection Act, oil & gas licensing standards, ISO frameworks) while proactively identifying and managing information‑related risks.
  • Strong communicator and trusted advisor who can engage the business, support change initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and champion best practice in information quality, accessibility and lifecycle management.
