Serenita Care Home is a grand Victorian residence in Weston super Mare, a short walk from the seafront and famous pier. We provide specialist support for individuals with mental health conditions, including Korsakoff’s syndrome and Alcohol Related Brain Damage, promoting independence for up to 34 residents.

We are looking for a compassionate and creative Activities Assistant to help residents enjoy meaningful, engaging days. You will work with the Activities Coordinator and the care team to deliver person centred activities that support social, emotional, physical and cognitive wellbeing.

What We Offer

  • £12.21 per hour
  • 15 contracted hours per week
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 4pm
  • Pension scheme, paid DBS, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

What You Will Do

  • Support the planning and delivery of varied activities tailored to individual interests and abilities.
  • Encourage participation and inclusion in group and one to one sessions.
  • Help organise events, themed days and occasional outings, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Record attendance and feedback to inform care plans.
  • Assist residents to keep in touch with family and friends, including by phone or video calls.
  • Promote dignity, respect and equality in every interaction.

About You

You are friendly, patient and positive, with good communication and organisational skills. You are creative and confident encouraging others to join in. You are a team player who can also work independently. Previous experience in care or activities is welcome but not essential. A full driving licence is desirable.
