We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Finance & Payroll Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of our finance function. This is a part-time role working 2 days per week (Monday & Tuesday, 09:00-17:00), with the opportunity to pick up additional hours as the department grows.
The Role
You will play a key role in keeping our finance processes running smoothly, supporting invoicing, payroll preparation, and general financial administration across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Raising and managing client invoices (experience in social care desirable but not essential)
- Supporting payroll preparation, including:
- Generating timesheets
- Producing payroll reports for external accountants
- Maintaining accurate records on Xero
- Processing purchase invoices and reconciling accounts
- Assisting with credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Supporting monthly finance tasks and reporting
- Maintaining organised digital filing systems
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience using Xero (essential)
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using computer systems
- Experience in invoicing and general finance admin
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisation and time management
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Social care experience is a bonus, but not required
Hours & Flexibility
Core days: Monday & Tuesday (09:00-17:00). Additional hours may be available depending on workload.
Pay: £14-14.80 per hour, depending on experience.
