About the Role
Maintenance Operative at AASC – Rochdale, Bury and Middleton (Wigan area). Salary range £27,500-£33,500, full time, 37.5 hours per week. Requires full UK driving licence. Vehicle and tools provided. The role involves ensuring all requested repairs – reactive, proactive and pre‑planned – are carried out to the required standard and within SLA deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all repairs to accommodation are carried out to the required standard and within SLA deadlines.
- Manage own workflow and work within a team when necessary.
- Maintain Health & Safety standards for yourself and all users of the property.
- Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers.
- Inspect vehicle regularly and keep it in a professional and clean condition.
- Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota basis (once every 8‑10 weeks) to provide 24/7 emergency cover as per contractual responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating (or related field).
- Highly motivated, able to manage own workflow.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
- Acceptance of security clearance checks and Home Office approval.
Working Hours & Schedule
Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00. Out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota basis (once every 8‑10 weeks).
