Are you passionate about swimming? Are you naturally caring and supportive? Here at Birmingham Community Leisure Trust we aim to get more people active by providing affordable, safe and enjoyable lessons for all.
We have the opportunity to train a new cohort of Swimming Teachers to grow our programmes and ensure affordable lessons for all, regardless of ability or background.
Our next training course will take place at Stechford Leisure Centre. You must be available to attend on these dates: Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November between 9am – 4pm. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE ON THESE DATES.
By following the Swim England learn-to-swim framework we develop confidence in swimmers through fun and progressive lessons. Many swimmers progress to swim competitively and represent their country.
Teaching our swimming lessons involves delivering safe, fun and progressive lessons while supporting your own career development. We will contract you for as many or as few teaching hours as you want around your current commitments.
We provide safeguarding and DBS checks; you do not need to arrange these yourself. You will be covered by our insurance and can work across our leisure centres, with excellent personal and career development through ongoing training.
All teachers receive a free Centre membership and a free membership for a friend or family member.
Serco manages these facilities on behalf of the Trust.
What You’ll Need To Do
Role involves heavy customer interaction. You will use excellent communication and customer service skills to support people of all ages and backgrounds.
You should be passionate about swimming and able to use motivation and organisational skills to deliver safe, fun and progressive lessons. If you can provide enthusiasm, we will provide training and qualification.
To be considered, you must be available to work evenings and weekends from February and be willing to complete a lifesaving qualification (NRASTC or NPLQ).
