Retail Assistant – Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre

Permanent, Full Time – £25,866.78 per annum + excellent corporate benefits package.

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Assistant. The key purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive and efficient shop service to residents, dependent children and staff. You will manage stock control systems, ensure adequate stock levels are maintained at all times, participate in ordering, service residents shop requirements, maintain accurate sales and purchase records, and liaise with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive and efficient shop service to residents, dependent children and staff.
• Manage stock control systems to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
• Operate and participate in the ordering process.
• Use computer‑based software to service residents shop requirements and ensure stock is held appropriately and securely.
• Keep detailed and accurate sales and purchase records to progress supplier payment efficiently.
• Liaise with other departments when required.

What You’ll Need

• Experience of working within a retail environment.
• Experience of working in a high‑pressure operation.
• Self‑motivated, using initiative and working to tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, good oral and written communication.
• Supervisory skills with a basic understanding of risk and conflict management.
