Contract Type: Full Time

Working Hours: 37 hours per week to cover a mixture of shifts Monday to Friday

About the Role

As the Senior Lifeguard, the purpose of the role is to work within the centre whilst ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care. You will report to the duty manager and, in the duty manager’s absence, the successful candidate will manage the facility and ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard. Furthermore, you will be involved in supervising specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and working on the safe handling and set up of equipment. Without you, there can’t be any pool activity. However, you won’t be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close‑knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety protocols and standards are met while supervising pool activities.
  • Manage the facility during the duty manager’s absence, ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Supervise specific activities and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Handle the safe set up of equipment and promote a safe environment for all users.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leisure environment.
  • Previous experience of pool supervision.
  • Strong swimming skills.
  • Hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) and first aid qualification.
  • Safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have previous experience in a leisure environment, as well as previous experience of pool supervision and you can demonstrate a can‑do attitude to get the job done. As the Senior Lifeguard you need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. You must have strong swimming skills and hold the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) & first aid qualification.
