As a Deputy Security Manager in our Defence – Brize Norton Support Contract (BSC) team, you’ll play a critical leadership role supporting the safe, secure and compliant operation of one of the RAF’s most important bases. Acting as deputy to the Security Manager, you’ll lead operational performance, people leadership and customer relationships within a highly regulated security environment. In this role, your impact goes beyond day-to-day operations. You’ll help ensure national defence infrastructure operates safely and effectively, support our people to perform at their best, and build trusted relationships with RAF stakeholders – all contributing to safer communities and a stronger future.
What you’ll do as a Deputy Security Manager
- Act as deputy to the Security Manager, leading the Security Section in their absence and providing clear management direction to teams
- Deliver safe, compliant and effective operational performance in line with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Lead, engage and develop Security Officers, maintaining high professional standards and employee engagement
- Ensure full compliance with SIA regulations, licences, security clearances and mandated training requirements
- Act as a key liaison point with RAF Security Squadron and station stakeholders, managing customer feedback and escalations
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and adherence to safety, quality and environmental standards

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Experience working in a regulated security environment, ideally within MoD or defence settings
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to manage performance under pressure
- The ability to obtain and maintain SIA licence, SC, BPSS and BS7858 clearances
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Confidence operating in fast-paced, high-compliance environments
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
