Here at Maidstone Leisure Trust our goal is to encourage active, healthy lifestyles in an environment that is safe, warm, clean, friendly and fun. To be the destination of choice for being part of an active community, whilst helping you to make more of every day. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team -- and right now we are looking to recruit for a Relief Duty Manager to join the team.

As the Relief Duty Manager, the purpose of the role will be to work within the centre whilst ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care. You will be reporting to the duty manager and in the duty manager's absence, the successful candidate will be managing the facility and ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard. Furthermore, you will be involved in supervising specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and working on the safe handling and set up of equipment.

Without you there can't be any pool activity. But you won't be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. We share your passion for leisure, and we will offer a safe, fun, and professional working environment with excellent development opportunities. You will also receive free gym membership and other various discounts.

What you'll need to do the role:

  • We are looking to hear from candidates who have previous experience in a leisure environment, as well as previous experience of pool supervision and you can demonstrate a can-do attitude to get the job done.
  • As the senior lifeguard you'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations.
  • Lastly, you'll need to have strong swimming skills and it's essential that you hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) or equivalent & first aid qualification to be considered for this role.

Why Serco:

  • A place you can make an impact: Swimming pools are the beating hearts of our leisure centres and without lifeguards we cannot operate. You ensure that our customers can enjoy their activity in safety and when needed you save lives.
  • A place you can count on: Our lifeguards are integral to the running of our centres, so as well progressing into senior lifeguard positions you can move into other centre management roles in one of our 55 facilities.
  • A place for you: Our centres are close-knit and friendly, and we rely on each other for support. As well as the backing of the team you'll also find all the resources you need for career progression through Serco Learning.

What we offer:

  • Free membership at the Centre plus heavily discounted use of classes and facilities.
  • Free safeguarding training and DBS check.
  • Excellent Development and Training Opportunities.
  • 6% employer matched pension contribution.
