As a Regional Technical and Energy Manager within our Transport and Community Services – Leisure team, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping our facilities safe, compliant and efficient, while driving down energy consumption and carbon impact. Your work will help create positive, lasting outcomes for the communities who rely on our leisure centres every day. In this influential role, you’ll balance technical expertise with purpose. From optimising building performance and supporting capital projects to embedding strong energy management practices, you’ll help ensure our sites operate responsibly, sustainably and with pride – creating impactful solutions that support a better future.
Responsibilities
- Ensure statutory and contract compliance across a regional portfolio of leisure facilities
- Lead effective energy management, using data analysis to reduce consumption and carbon without compromising customer experience
- Support asset management, including planned and reactive maintenance, budgets and lifecycle planning
- Provide technical guidance on HVAC, building management systems (BMS) and electro‑mechanical plant
- Support capital projects, mobilisations and the management of subcontractors and consultants
- Produce clear reporting and insights on performance, risks and improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of building services, statutory compliance and health and safety requirements
- Proven experience in energy management, ideally within leisure or a similar operational environment
- In‑depth understanding of HVAC systems, BMS control strategies and energy audits
- Experience supporting or delivering ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems
- The confidence to collaborate with operational teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
Vetting and checks
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position, including spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed to ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
