Job Overview: Maintenance Operative – AASC – Preston/Flyde. Full time 37.5 hours per week, salary £27,500–£33,500 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits. Full UK driving licence required. Vehicle and tools provided.
Duties include caring for temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all requested repairs, whether reactive, proactive or pre‑planned, are carried out to required standard and within SLA deadlines.
- Manage own workflow and work within a team when necessary.
- Maintain health & safety of self and all building users during and after works have been undertaken.
- Purchase and manage materials using company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.
- Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota basis (once every 8–10 weeks).
- Inspect vehicles regularly and keep them professional and clean.
- Travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating or related fields.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
- Willful and able to work independently and within a team.
- Acceptable to meet security clearance checks and Home Office approval.
