Location: Gloucester (preferred), with travel across Bristol, Lyneham, Gloucester and Swindon

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Plumber to join our Accommodation team, delivering repairs and maintenance to Ministry of Defence housing across Bristol, Lyneham, Gloucester and Swindon, with candidates based around the Gloucester area preferred.

Working on both Service Family Accommodation (SFA) and Mess Facilities Housing (MFH), you'll help ensure military families and personnel have safe, comfortable homes. You'll be joining a close-knit team of three experienced plumbers, working together to provide a high-quality, Right First Time repairs service while delivering excellent customer care.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll carry out domestic plumbing repairs, maintenance and installations across occupied and void properties, including:

  • Repairing leaks
  • Replacing sanitary ware
  • Maintaining heating and hot water systems
  • Fault finding
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance

Working independently and as part of the wider maintenance team, you'll ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll use electronic job management systems to record completed work and materials, maintain your van stock to maximise first-time fixes and always deliver a professional service to customers. Health and safety is at the heart of everything we do, so you'll complete risk assessments and follow safe systems of work on every job. You'll also attend regular training, toolbox talks and team briefings to continue developing your skills and stay up to date with industry best practice.

The role includes participation in a one-week-in-three call-out rota, which includes weekends. A standby payment and additional call-out supplement are provided for this commitment.

What you’ll need

You'll be a qualified plumber with experience in domestic repairs and maintenance and take genuine pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You'll enjoy problem solving, have excellent customer service skills and be confident working independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment. To be successful, you'll hold an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, possess a full UK Driving Licence and have previous experience working in domestic plumbing. You must also be eligible to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance due to the nature of the work.
