Working at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, you’ll contribute to a positive impact on healthcare delivery by maintaining critical infrastructure that directly supports patient care. From planned preventative maintenance to reactive repairs, your skills will help protect water safety, support infection prevention, and create an environment where clinical teams can focus on what matters most.

  • Carry out reactive plumbing maintenance, including repair and replacement of pipework, sanitaryware, valves and associated systems
  • Service, maintain and test thermostatic mixing valves in line with NHS Health Technical Memoranda
  • Support water safety activities such as temperature monitoring, flushing regimes and legionella prevention
  • Accurately complete maintenance and compliance documentation using the CAFM system
  • Work closely with estates colleagues, contractors and clinical teams to minimise disruption to patient care

  • Hands-on experience servicing and maintaining thermostatic mixing valves
  • A good understanding of legionella control, water hygiene and compliance requirements
  • The ability to use CAFM systems and confidently complete digital maintenance records

Vetting and checks: This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.

Showcase Your Experience

Prepare to discuss your previous plumbing maintenance experience in detail. Be ready to share examples of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs you've handled, particularly in large building environments like hospitals.

Ask Smart Questions

Prepare some thoughtful questions about the role and the team you'll be working with. This shows your genuine interest in the position and helps you understand how you can best contribute to the hospital's operations.
