Serco have an exciting opportunity to join their team as Operations Administrator at the IFTC in Durham.

You’ll be ensuring that all operational aspects are managed and reported on in a manner compliant with statutory obligations and Serco’s group standards. The post holder will work closely with colleagues, managers and stakeholders to deliver a well-managed and compliant operation.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Providing dedicated operational administrative support to Technical IFTC management:
  • Uploading data to central incident platform
  • Monitoring and managing the review of Health and Safety related assessments
  • Maintaining and updating multiple operational excel spreadsheets/online portals
  • Take a pro-active role within the fireground, motor transport and facilities departments; liaising with the suppliers and contractors and generally being fully conversant with the departmental aims and objectives.
  • Assist in ensuring IFTC Local Operating Procedures (LOP’s) are created, reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
  • Any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Head of Compliance & Technical Services
  • What you’ll need to do the role:

  • Ability to take a systematic approach to their workload
  • Proven experience in an administrative role.
  • Able to use a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour).
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Must be methodical, have proven organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
  • It is essential that the successful candidate is PC literate, MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
