Location: Household recycling centre, Sandwell, B69 2BP

Salary: £36,191.59 per annum plus shift allowance

Schedule: Full time 37 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days. This will include weekend working and bank holidays.

As an HRC Supervisor in our Household Recycling Centre team, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day running of a busy civic amenity site, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality service delivery. You’ll play a key role in helping communities recycle more effectively and reduce waste. In this role, your work has real purpose. You’ll support the public to separate waste correctly, maximise recycling rates, and ensure operations run smoothly and safely. Every day, your leadership helps create a cleaner, more sustainable environment while delivering a positive impact on local communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily operations of the Household Recycling Centre, ensuring full compliance with regulations and site procedures
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of colleagues to deliver excellent service and maintain high standards
  • Manage rotas, timesheets, absence, and overtime requirements
  • Monitor performance against key service targets and ensure accurate waste reporting and data recording
  • Maintain site standards, including cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, managers, and members of the public to support effective service delivery

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Confidence using IT systems, including basic Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and undertake relevant training, including industry certifications
