Salary: Up to £27,649 per annum plus enhancements and excellent benefits

Schedule: Full-time, permanent – 12-hour shifts, 4 on and 4 off

From routine patrols to emergency response, your actions will help create a safe space where care can continue without disruption.

What you’ll do as a Security Officer

  • Provide a professional and highly visible security presence across hospital buildings, car parks, and site boundaries
  • Carry out regular foot patrols, monitor access points, and respond to alarms and incidents
  • Act as a first-line emergency responder, using conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques wherever possible
  • Operate security and control room systems including CCTV, body worn video, radios, and alarm panels
  • Complete accurate incident reports and logs, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with procedures
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Serco and the NHS, treating everyone with dignity, respect, and care

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence desirable)
  • A current First Aid qualification in line with SIA requirements
  • Experience working in a customer-facing security role, ideally within healthcare or a similar environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A team-focused mindset, with confidence using IT systems and writing clear reports
