As a Building Craftsman in our Estates team, you’ll help maintain and improve a vital healthcare environment, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and ready to support patient care every day. Your work will directly contribute to a setting where lives are supported and improved.
From planned maintenance to reactive repairs, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the hospital’s infrastructure operates efficiently. This is a role where your skills create a visible, positive impact on patients, visitors, and colleagues – supporting a critical service that touches lives across the community.
What you’ll do as Building Craftsman
- Carry out building maintenance and new works as directed, ensuring high standards are met
- Use your own initiative to diagnose and resolve building fabric issues
- Support other trades and collaborate across teams when required
- Maintain accurate records such as work logs, timesheets, and audit information
- Follow all health and safety policies to ensure safe working practices
- Participate in on-call rotas and respond to emergency repair needs when required

Vetting and checks: This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
