Café Assistant Location: Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Lilleshall, Newport, TF10 9AT
Salary: £8.00 per hour, £12.71 per hour (dependent upon age)
Schedule: 0 hours casual contract working Monday to Sunday between the hours 7am – 11pm.
As a Café Assistant in our leisure team, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming space for the community while ensuring high standards of service and food hygiene. Your work directly contributes to a positive experience for visitors and supports our purpose of making a positive impact on local communities. You’ll play a key role in delivering a friendly, efficient café service that people can trust. From preparing food safely to offering great customer care, you’ll help create an environment that feels positive, clean, and cared for — a place where the community can relax and enjoy good food in a safe setting.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout
- Undertake and record temperature checks to uphold strong food hygiene standards
- Serve customers promptly and efficiently
- Follow financial and cash handling procedures
- Prepare food and beverages in line with café menus and Supervisor guidance
- Replenish café and vending machine stock as required
- Maintain and promote brand standards
- Support operational needs, including cover for holidays and sickness
