Working hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday (On call 1 in 9-12 weeks)

Here at Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing them with temporary accommodation. As the Maintenance Operative your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, be that reactive or proactive and pre planned (via manager), are carried out to the required standard and within our SLA deadlines.
You will be responsible for the Health & Safety of yourself, colleagues, and that of all users of the property during, and after works have been undertaken and completed. You will also be required to purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only. Vehicles provided by the company will be inspected regularly by employees and kept in a professional and clean condition.
Flexible Working Pattern: Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet the operational needs of the business.
On‑Call Requirements & Out Of Hours Working: There will be a requirement to undertake out of hours on call duties, working on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 emergency cover is provided as per our contractual responsibilities. There will be a stand-by fee, time & a half for the callouts.
What You Need To Do The Job: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with previous maintenance experience within a field relating to joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating etc. You will be a highly motivated individual who can manage your own workflow as well as working within a team when necessary. You will need a willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential). All offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks.
