Job Overview
Role: Maintenance Operative
Location: Peterborough, England, United Kingdom (covers AASC – Peterborough/Huntingdon/Kings Lynn/Spalding)
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits
Driving licence: Full UK driving licence required. Vehicle and tools provided.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all requested repairs (reactive or proactive and pre‑planned) to the required standard within SLA deadlines.
- Manage own workflow and work as part of a team where necessary.
- Ensure health & safety of yourself and all users of the property during, and after, works.
- Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.
- Inspect provided vehicle regularly and keep it in a professional and clean condition.
- Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota basis (once every 8‑10 weeks) to ensure 24/7 emergency cover as per contractual responsibilities.
Working Hours & Patterns
- Mon – Fri: 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00.

Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating, or related field.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
- Valid UK driver’s licence.
- All offers subject to security clearance checks and Home Office approval.
