Salary: £27,103.12 per annum plus benefits

Schedule: 40 hours per week, permanent

As a Learner and Student Engagement Facilitator in our HMP Fosse Way education team, you’ll help create an environment where learners feel motivated, supported, and encouraged to grow. You’ll play a meaningful role in shaping positive futures. By supporting learning, enrichment, and personal development, you’ll help people build confidence, develop skills, and prepare for successful reintegration into society.

What you’ll do as a Learner and Student Engagement Facilitator

  • Assist colleagues in delivering engaging educational and enrichment activities that build academic and personal skills.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and group learning support, helping learners consolidate course material and build confidence.
  • Contribute creative ideas to develop new learning activities and resources tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Help maintain a positive and effective learning environment, ensuring learners remain engaged and focused.
  • Act as a motivating influence, supporting learners’ personal development and encouraging perseverance.
  • Support record keeping, including progress tracking, attendance, and reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across teaching, prison operations, key workers, and other stakeholders to meet learners’ rehabilitative needs.

Vetting and checks: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
