Location: King’s Lynn, PE30 1PQ
Compensation: Salary: £24,596 (35hrs per week), rising to £25,555 from 1st September 2026. Further progression: £26,191 (Year 2); £26,684 (Year 3); £27,180 (Year 4).
Working Hours: The service operates 24/6 across early and late shifts. Shifts are set on a 12‑week rota. Flexibility is essential; you may need to work beyond contracted hours when required. Part‑time work may be considered only on full working days.
Duties:
- Escort detainees within court premises, including to courtrooms, cells, and facilities.
- Supervise detainees during hearings to maintain safety and security.
- Manage sensitive situations and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Support detainee welfare, ensuring access to food, drink, and wellbeing checks.
- Monitor behaviour and respond to incidents or risks.
- Conduct searches to maintain a secure environment.
- Complete accurate records and documentation.
- Work closely with court staff and partners to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (B/B1) – desirable.
- Reasonable fitness for the physical demands of the role.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Confidence in managing behaviour and de‑escalating conflict.
- Teamwork and ability to follow processes accurately.
