Drive how we manage risk and how we do it better. This is an opportunity to step into a role where you won’t just manage insurance programmes, you’ll continuously improve how they operate.

As an Insurance Manager within the Group Insurance team, you’ll play a central role in shaping how a global organisation manages its insurable risk. From structuring programmes and supporting renewals to influencing how risk is transferred and retained, your work will directly support business growth, protect performance, and enhance decision‑making.

What sets this role apart is the focus on evolution – you’ll be expected to challenge the status quo, identifying opportunities to improve processes, optimise cost, enhance coverage, and strengthen how insurance supports the wider business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing day‑to‑day insurance programmes across multiple regions and business units
  • Leading end‑to‑end renewal activity, from underwriting data through to negotiation and placement
  • Ensuring insurance programmes meet contractual requirements and align with the Group’s risk appetite
  • Continuously reviewing and improving programme structure, including insurer placement, retention levels, and use of captive insurance
  • Providing clear, commercially focused insurance advice to support new business and contract delivery
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and the efficiency of insurance operations
  • Analysing claims and loss data to inform better decision‑making and risk management strategies
  • Building strong relationships with brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting contract certainty through policy wording review and negotiation
  • Collaborating with divisional and senior stakeholders across finance and operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience within corporate insurance, ideally in a large, multinational organisation
  • Strong knowledge across Property, Liability, Financial Lines, and Specialty insurance classes
  • Experience managing global insurance programmes and renewal processes
  • Experience working with captive insurance structures and retained risk strategies
  • A proven ability to identify and deliver process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Strong analytical capability, including insurance cost and performance optimisation
  • A confident communicator, able to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • A proactive, curious approach with a drive to challenge and improve how things are done

Why this role

This is more than a traditional insurance role; it’s an opportunity to shape and improve how insurance supports a global business. You’ll have the platform to influence strategy, enhance processes, and build your profile across senior stakeholders while working across a broad and complex risk landscape.

What We Offer

  • Company car / £4,200 cash alternative
  • Private healthcare
  • Bonus scheme of 10% on target
  • Flexible working considered
  • Pension – 6%
  • Chance to contribute to innovation in the public services
  • A company passionate about diversity and inclusion
  • Serco discounts including cinema, entertainment, shopping, mobile phone plans, and leisure centre memberships
  • Employee Assistance Programme, Simply Health Cash Plans, and more
  • Training and career development opportunities across role‑specific training, leadership coaching, formal study, and more
  • Safe and supportive culture
