Here at Serco we are looking for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our FM department at HMP Ashfield a category C male establishment prison based in Pucklechurch near Bristol. The operational capacity is for prisoners and it takes a skilled team of people to keep the facility safe, secure and in proper working order.
The key purpose of this role is to carry out routine HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering work, preventative maintenance and repairs. You will ensure that various pre planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required. The role calls for leadership and setting visible standards of personal performance and accountability and the post holder is expected to function with a degree of independence.

What you\’ll need to do the job
You are required to have HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G, NVQ). You should be a member of relevant technical professional body desired.
You must hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and must have 3 years post qualification experience.
The successful candidate must enjoy working as part of a team and getting stuck in to everything and anything FM related! You will have a flexible and proactive approach, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You will be expected to be part of a call out rota and potential weekend working.
Lastly, because of the nature of the work, all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the MoJ and you must be able to pass a CRB Clearance and Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check).
