Overview

We are looking for a recently qualified finance professional (typically 2–3 years PQE) to join our high‑profile Group Reporting team within Serco Group Finance. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant who wants exposure to listed PLC reporting, technical accounting, board‑level reporting and global stakeholder engagement within a complex international business. You will work as part of a collaborative team of five, supporting the consolidation and reporting of the Group’s global financial performance, ensuring integrity of data, IFRS compliance and delivery of key external and internal reporting outputs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual Group financial reporting
  • Assisting with the production of the Annual Report and Half‑Year Interim Statement
  • Helping ensure compliance with IFRS and Group accounting policies
  • Preparing technical accounting papers on topics such as Going Concern and Viability
  • Supporting the coordination and delivery of the Group audit process
  • Partnering with divisional finance teams and corporate functions to provide accounting guidance and support
  • Supporting statutory reporting and subsidiary entity processes
  • Reviewing outputs from offshore finance teams and ensuring robust controls are maintained
  • Contributing to finance improvement initiatives and broader Group Finance projects
  • Working with systems and reporting technology including SAP and Workiva

What we’re looking for

  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge, particularly IFRS
  • Experience gained within audit, practice or a Group Reporting environment
  • Exposure to listed PLC reporting would be highly beneficial
  • Experience within complex, contract‑led or outsourcing environments would be advantageous
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across finance and non‑finance stakeholders
  • Experience using digital finance and reporting tools such as Power BI, Workiva, SAP or BPC would be advantageous
  • A proactive mindset with an interest in improving reporting, controls and finance processes through technology and data insights
