Schedule: 6 FTC/FT/Shift-based role - 2 days (06.30am-18:30pm), 2 nights (18:30-06:30am) and 4 days off
As a Security Guard on the TCS contract at MOD Oakhanger, you’ll play a vital role in protecting a high‑security site. Your work helps keep people, information and infrastructure safe – contributing to trust, security and positive impact every day. This hands‑on role requires vigilance, care and professionalism. By maintaining site integrity and delivering a strong customer‑focused service, you’ll help ensure operations run safely, securely and without disruption.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a first line of defence in support of the TCS site mission
- Carry out foot and vehicle patrols, escort duties, and vehicle and bag searches
- Operate security systems including CCTV, intrusion detection systems and entry control
- Issue and receive keys and site passes, maintaining accurate records
- Complete reports and maintain the Daily Occurrence Log
- Work closely with colleagues and external agencies to uphold site security
Requirements
- A valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence
- Current SC Security Clearance and the ability to meet US clearance requirements
- Experience working in a secure or government environment
- Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
- A full Manual UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Compliance with Defence Academy and Serco security, operational, and training requirements
- Security Vetting Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance – verifying identity, employment history, nationality and criminal record to meet government security standards.
- Formal Security Clearance such as CTC or SC may be required, which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record and financial history.
- UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance.
- The role also requires completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
