You are required to have a valid UK driving licence for this role.

Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the primary function of this role is to provide general maintenance services to a designated area or number of properties.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance of Property: To provide general maintenance services, report faults using the AORA IT system, and ensure all properties are compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the safety of all users of the property, check relevant property reports before undertaking works, and ensure all works are completed in line with Risk Assessments and Method statements.
  • Furniture & Inventory: Repair or replace Serco supplied furniture to comply with the Home Office Contract.
  • Materials Management: Purchase materials/PPE from approved Serco suppliers and keep receipts for all transactions.
  • Purchase: Obtain supervisor approval for the purchase of tools and ensure appropriate receipts are obtained and recorded.
  • Waste Disposal: Remove all waste from works completed and ensure it is disposed of in approved licensed areas and recycled where possible.
  • Garden Maintenance: Undertake garden maintenance duties for properties defined under their property remit.
  • Work Scheduling & Prioritisation: Complete all allocated KPI work in advance of the scheduled completion date and ensure any other maintenance defects are addressed.

Working Hours: Various work patterns will be set for General Operatives depending on operational delivery needs. 8 hours a day on patch, flexible from 8 am until 6 pm.

What you’ll need to do the role:

  • General DIY experience.
  • A willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential).
