Serco delivers essential environmental services to local authorities and businesses, including waste and recycling collection, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance. We are looking for an experienced Senior Contract Manager to join our leadership team and oversee operations across Norfolk.
Main Accountabilities:
- Operational Leadership: Overseeing frontline Waste and Cleansing Services, ensuring integration for maximum performance, compliance with UK/EU legislation, health & safety standards, and achievement of KPIs and budget targets.
- Strategic Development & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement, implement new technologies, and develop annual plans to meet contractual and growth objectives.
- People & Culture: Lead and engage a large workforce, ensuring effective employee relations, diversity and inclusion, training, and performance development.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with local authorities, partners, and communities, promoting service excellence and the Serco Way.
- Financial & Resource Management: Monitor operational and financial performance, manage resources cost-effectively, safeguard assets, and deliver against budget and profit targets.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a robust health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring adherence to corporate governance and legal requirements.
What You’ll Need To Do The Role:
- Clean Driving licence
- Previous experience at Contract Management or above level within the waste or similar sector managing blue collar staff services (previous environmental and street cleansing sectors desirable)
- Previous experience of working in a multi-disciplined contract environment, with specific appropriate skills aligned to the contract needs
- Previous experience of working with Local government, contracting and tendering
- Experience of working with complex unions
- Strong Leadership and People Management Skills
- Excellent Stakeholder Management Skills
- Commercially & financially astute
- Open minded & results orientated
- Good experience of using IT systems
