The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 Β£ per year.

Salary up to Β£24,169 plus enhancements, plus basic, plus Serco benefits.

Main Purpose

To provide a retail catering service that meets the expectations of patients, staff, and visitors in terms of quality, safety, and value for money. Deliver services within agreed KPIs and Service Level Agreements to the core restaurant, commercial outlets across the site, including hospitality functions.

Main Accountabilities

  • Provide courteous and efficient catering services to patients, staff, and visitors, optimizing the productivity of retail outlets.
  • Prepare and serve food and drinks to accepted customer standards professionally and courteously.
  • Maximize retail sales and demonstrate high levels of customer service.
  • Clean catering and service equipment to hygiene standards, including floors and work surfaces.
  • Assist in delivering vending and catering services within time constraints and requirements.
  • Operate cash registers and handle cash securely and efficiently.
  • Maintain coffee machines and adhere to brand standards.
  • Upsell retail promotions to maximize revenue and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, including allergen awareness.
  • Follow Health and Safety, Quality, Serco, and Trust policies, completing documentation accurately.
  • Maintain equipment, report faults, and store goods properly to minimize waste.
  • Participate as a team member, supporting and training colleagues, and engaging in team meetings.
  • Demonstrate company values and respond appropriately to service needs.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and infection control standards.
  • Mentor and support new employees, assist in training, and undertake visual inspections of equipment.
  • Use judgment to balance customer needs and business priorities.
  • Communicate empathetically to enhance customer experience.
  • Wear the correct uniform and participate in team briefs and training.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Barista and in retail catering is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and customer care skills.
  • Mandatory training in manual handling, risk assessment, and fire safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions, be flexible, empathetic, and organized.
  • Basic food preparation, hygiene, and allergen awareness skills.
