Salary: £30,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

As a Progression Job Coach in our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team, you’ll support people to overcome barriers and move into sustainable employment, delivering meaningful outcomes that create lasting change. You’ll manage a caseload of participants on the Restart scheme, working closely with each individual to understand their goals, build confidence, and develop practical skills that help them succeed in today’s job market. Your work will have a real, positive impact – helping people build brighter futures while strengthening communities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored one-to-one coaching and support throughout their employment journey
  • Complete needs assessments and develop personalised action plans to help participants achieve sustainable work
  • Deliver practical employability support, including CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, and job search strategies
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships that motivate participants and support long‑term progress
  • Engage with employers to identify suitable opportunities and match participants to roles aligned with their skills and aspirations
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all activities meet compliance and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, or supporting individuals to achieve personal or professional goals
  • A genuine passion for helping people and making a positive impact in communities
  • Experience working in a target‑driven or performance‑focused environment
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and with external partners

Vetting and Checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, including spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
