Here at Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, including temporary accommodation. The Maintenance Operative plays a key role in ensuring all requested repairs—reactive or proactive—are completed to standard and within SLA deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reactive and proactive maintenance repairs as required.
- Manage own workflow and collaborate with team members when necessary.
- Ensure health and safety for yourself and all property users during and after works.
- Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers.
- Inspect vehicles regularly and maintain them in a professional, clean condition.
Work Hours & On‑Call Duties
- Mon – Fri: 7.5 hrs per day between 08:00‑18:00 to meet operational needs.
- On‑call duties on a rota basis to provide 24/7 emergency cover, occurring once every 8‑10 weeks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience in fields such as joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
- All offers subject to security clearance and Home Office approval.
- Ability to use a company account card responsibly and maintain vehicle condition.
