Here at Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing them with temporary accommodation. As the Maintenance Operative your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, be that reactive or proactive and pre-planned (via manager), are carried out to the required standard and within our SLA deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity covering Wigan for an individual with previous maintenance experience within a field relating to joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating etc. You will be a highly motivated individual who can manage your own workflow as well as working within a team when necessary.
As a Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for the Health & Safety of yourself and that of all users of the property during, and after works have been undertaken and completed. As part of your role, you will be required to purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only. Vehicles provided by the company will be inspected regularly by employees and kept in a professional and clean condition.
Flexible Working pattern Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet the operational needs of the business.
On –Call Requirements & Out of Hours Working There will be a requirement to undertake out of hours on call duties, working on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 emergency cover is provided as per our contractual responsibilities. This will be carried out once every 8-10 weeks for emergencies.
