At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi‑activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance to fuelling and ground control services.
Serco is recruiting for a Fuel Operative. Working alongside Service personnel and tasked by the Military Chain of Command in Aviation Fuels, our Fuel Operators support unit fuelling tasks at RAF Brize Norton.
Main Accountabilities:- Physical refuelling/defueling services of all refuelling and defueling tasks for all RAF Brize Norton based aircraft, visiting aircraft and road tankers.
- Undertake fuels assurance and governance checks to assure fuel quality.
- Facilitate and action husbandry in all areas.
- Co‑ordination and quality assurance checks of the fuel pipeline system receipt line for the fuel receipt process.
- Tank to tank transfer of fuel between Bulk Fuel Installations, and the undertaking of Fuel Movement.
- Maintain a positive “Zero Harm” culture with open honest reporting of Near Misses and safety related occurrences.
- Cat C1 driving licence.
- Must have the required colour perception to gain an Airfield Driving Permit (test available through an optician).
