Location: Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries, DG2 8PS

Salary: £28,291 – £29,175 plus shift enhancements and potential AP/CP payments plus excellent benefits.

Schedule: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, working a mixture of early, late, night and weekend shifts: 6 am‑2 pm, 2 pm‑10 pm and 10 pm‑6 am.

As a Building Support Assistant in our Health team, you’ll help keep vital hospital facilities running safely and efficiently, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities that directly impact patient care and wellbeing.

What you’ll do as a Building Support Assistant

  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across engineering plant and equipment
  • Carry out tasks such as filter changes, ductwork cleaning, and lighting replacements
  • Assist technicians and craftspeople with fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Complete service records, work orders, and logbooks using CAFM systems
  • Work safely in a range of environments, including plant rooms and confined spaces
  • Escort contractors and communicate effectively with colleagues regarding maintenance activities

Vetting and Checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
