Location: Nottingham, NG7 7NQ

Salary: £23,690 per annum plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday- Friday with on call as required between the hours of 08:00 -18:00.

Apprenticeship qualification to be achieved on completion: Property Maintenance Operative Standard, Level 2

As an Apprentice Maintenance Operative in our Justice and Immigration AASC MEE team, you’ll learn the fundamentals of property maintenance while gaining a recognised qualification. You’ll support experienced colleagues in delivering essential maintenance services that keep properties safe, compliant, and ready for use. This is your opportunity to build a career with purpose. What you’ll do as an Apprentice Maintenance Operative

  • Support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a designated property portfolio
  • Carry out basic repairs, cosmetic works, and garden maintenance under supervision
  • Identify and report hazards, ensuring properties are safe for occupants before work begins
  • Follow all health and safety legislation and internal safety standards
  • Assist with sourcing materials from approved suppliers and maintaining accurate records
  • Remove and dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring recycling where possible
  • Provide updates on repair progress and highlight any delays to your manager

  • An interest in property maintenance (experience is helpful but not essential)
  • A valid UK driving licence and ability to travel within the region
  • Strong teamwork skills and a proactive approach to supporting colleagues
  • The ability to meet security clearance requirements, including enhanced background checks

Vetting and checks:

This role requires BPSS clearance, which involves identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks to meet government security standards. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be required to ensure we can offer appropriate support for your wellbeing and performance.
