This role supports the HR Transactional Operations Lead in delivering an efficient, high-quality HR helpdesk service across the UK. You will take ownership of day-to-day operations, act as an escalation point, and help drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and team performance.

This is a hands-on role combining operational delivery, team leadership, and process improvement - ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic HR shared services environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Support the running of the UK HR Helpdesk, managing queries, triage, and escalations
  • Monitor and drive performance against SLAs, KPIs, and quality metrics, taking action where needed
  • Oversee ticket management and support peak activity periods (e.g. payroll, TUPE, onboarding)
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex HR queries and issues
  • Coach and support team members, ensuring development plans (IDPs) are in place
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives including automation and process enhancements
  • Maintain and develop Local Work Instructions (LWIs) and ensure consistent ways of working
  • Oversee Subject Access Requests (SARs) in line with ICO guidance, including audit activity
  • Produce and manage People Services performance dashboards
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, processes, and regulatory requirements

  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes
  • Experience working with HR systems such as SAP, ServiceNow (SNOW), or ResourceLink
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A customer-first approach with a passion for service excellence
  • Ability to coach, support, and influence team members and stakeholders at all levels
