Join the Frontline of Service Excellence at RAF Brize Norton. Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting for a team of Security and Traffic Officers based at RAF Brize Norton. We know that great security starts with great service and as a Security and Traffic Officer, you'll be part of the team that keeps RAF Brize Norton - the RAF's largest operational base - safe, secure, and welcoming.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Serco contracted security/reception duties under the instruction of the security shift supervisor providing the first impression for visitors and permanent staff who visit, work and live at RAF Brize Norton and everyone who enters, from RAF personnel to contractors and visitors. Your professionalism, calm approach, and attention to detail will help maintain the integrity and reputation of this vital site.
You’ll be joining a trusted team that’s supported the RAF and Ministry of Defence since 1997, contributing to critical operations that help protect the nation.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all visitors and staff.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian access, checking IDs and passes with accuracy.
- Assist with security searches and emergency response as required.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports.
- Deliver vehicle escort and traffic management services across the base.
Essential Criteria
- Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 points).
- Meet the colour perception requirement for Airfield Driving Permit.
- Willingness to complete SIA licence training and UKSV Security Clearance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and positive, customer-service mindset.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of this role, Security Check (SC) clearance is required. Candidates must have been UK residents for the past 5 consecutive years. Serco will support you through this process.
