At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly supports the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet.
Serco currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Compliance and Training Manager to join the team. The key purpose of this role is to ensure all obligations under the Serco Ltd Operators Licence and MoD Transport Regulations are checked and complied with, and all documentation is correctly held for audit. Additionally, they will be required to deliver driver's CPC training.
Main Accountabilities:
- Monitoring compliance and legal requirements in the day-to-day delivery of the Transport Fleet.
- Manage Digital Tachograph compliance for drivers and vehicles.
- Ensure Drivers are complying with the Road Transport Working Time Directive.
- Ensure there is a Driver CPC Plan in place which will be managed by the Fleet Services Manager.
- Undertake Driver CPC training, as part of the Serco Groups accredited training consortium.
- For those vehicles coming under the Serco Ltd Operators Licences, the vehicle fleet is maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
- Line Management responsibilities for Transport Administrators.
What you need to do the role:
- Full Cat B Driving Licence (Desirable).
- Level 3 Education & Training Certificate (Desirable, training can be provided).
- An understanding of transport operations including tachographs.
- Strong administration skills.
- Line management experience.
- Must be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package and possess a high standard of oral communication skills.
Additional information:
This role is required to undertake the O Licence, Management CPC for Road Haulage apprenticeship and once complete will be required to offer resilience in the absence of the O Licence holders should it be required.
