As a Health and Fitness Coach in our Wyndley Leisure Centre team, you’ll inspire our members to achieve their goals through expert coaching, structured fitness programmes, and a supportive approach that builds confidence and progress. You’ll help create a community orientated environment where members feel welcome, motivated and empowered. Through your coaching, you’ll play a key role in improving wellbeing in the community and supporting people to enjoy healthier, more active lives.
What you’ll do as a Health and Fitness Coach
- Deliver our signature Health and Fitness programmes for members and casual users, using your knowledge while following our standardised coaching frameworks.
- Track member progress, review attendance and exercise logs, and support members who may be struggling to stay on track.
- Administer health and fitness evaluations such as body composition, blood pressure, heart rate and strength or cardiovascular tests.
- Support onboarding of new members, guiding them towards programmes that best match their goals and introducing group and personal training opportunities.
- Deliver coaching, instruction and motivation during member sessions, using your understanding of the human body and appropriate exercises aligned to our programming.
- Assist members on the gym floor to ensure safe, effective workouts while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
Does this sound like you? You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Level 2 Fitness Instruction (mandatory).
- Level 3 Personal Trainer (preferable but not essential).
- A working knowledge of health and fitness and how to guide clients through structured programmes.
- Group training qualifications (desirable, but full training will be provided).
Vetting and checks: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
