As a Supervisor (Electrical) in our Airfield Engineering and Support Services (AESAS) team, you'll provide maintenance and engineering support for Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (A/GSE), Operational Support Machinery Equipment (OSME), and other specialist equipment within a highly regulated aviation environment. Your work will help ensure critical equipment remains safe, compliant, and ready to support operational delivery.

By maintaining essential support equipment and delivering Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services across the air station, you'll play an important role in supporting operational capability, safety, and performance. What you'll do as a Supervisor (Electrical)

  • Supervise the maintenance and support of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (A/GSE), Operational Support Machinery Equipment (OSME), and other associated equipment.
  • Deliver Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services across a wide range of operational and engineering departments throughout the air station.
  • Ensure all contracted engineering tasks are completed safely, compliantly, and in accordance with customer procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Support the Senior Supervisor in maintaining an efficient operation that meets contractual commitments and customer requirements.
  • Monitor risks, hazards, quality issues, and engineering events, ensuring appropriate reporting and corrective actions are completed.
  • Support the development, mentoring, and training of colleagues, apprentices, and team members while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Does this sound like you?

  • You hold a current certification in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
  • You have experience of engineering, aircraft servicing, support equipment, or a similar technical environment.
  • You have a strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and quality practices.
  • You're confident using engineering asset management systems, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
  • You have knowledge of airworthiness, engineering safety, and compliance requirements within a regulated environment.
  • You can lead by example, build trust with others, and work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of performance.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
