Ready to impact a better future? As a Cycling Coach in our Citizen Services team, you'll help people build confidence, skill, and joy through cycling. You'll deliver coached sessions that bring the community together and support riders of all abilities. Your work will support a more active, connected community. By helping people develop lifelong skills, you'll play a direct part in promoting healthier habits, expanding participation, and creating a positive impact for local residents.
What you’ll do as a Cycling Coach
- Plan and deliver fun, safe, and engaging cycling coaching activities for a wide range of rider levels.
- Support individuals to improve their riding technique, bike handling, and overall cycling confidence.
- Work with riders, schools, community groups, and local cycling clubs or organisations to promote the track and encourage participation.
- Mentor aspiring coaches and share best practice to support their development.
- Oversee cycle maintenance of the bike stock, maintaining the cycle register and coordinating basic upkeep.
- Work with, and delegate tasks to, volunteers who support maintenance and track activities.
- Support all aspects of track operations and remain flexible as new responsibilities emerge.

Vetting and checks
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
